"I have had such a good experience with the dryer. We love ours, just built it in April, and I use it for all sorts of things, most recently to dry 6 days of meals for light backpacking. Recently I found very ripe bananas for 19 cents a pound and purchased 10 pounds. I was able to slice them up and make fabulous-tasting trail food; it handled all 10 pounds with room to spare. I also used 14 pounds of meat to make Jerky and it again was up to the task. I've even taken casseroles and spread them out thin on parchment paper on the screens and made complete dehydrated meals for camping and hiking. Whenever we buy too much produce and realize we can't eat it all before it starts to go bad, we cut it up and dry it; we've made some wonderful and interesting things."

"I built your solar dryer about three years ago (using some of the screening you sell) and have had good success with it."

I love my new dryer, and today I'm drying string beans, thinly-sliced onions tossed with tamari and lemon juice, and kale chips.

The design is great and they are working very well, we had them up to 150 today, wow! We’re trying to move towards a more sustainable way of life, and this has been a very inspiring project for us.
So far we’ve done figs, onions, hot peppers, zucchini, potatoes, beans, and lots of parsley. The backup heating system has really helped for finishing them off...... for some reason we haven't had many consecutive hot days in August this year up here.
